GRAPHIC 45 " TYPOGRAPHY " ALTERED EYEGLASSES HOLDER

Hi Everyone !
My wonderful father-in-law is having a birthday this week and he will be 87 years old !  While his steps are a bit slower these days, he is still an AMAZING man with lots of drive and desire left in him. Being this soon past Christmas it is hard for me to come up with an original gift for a January birthday... but after observing him over the holidays, I figured out that one of the few things he does not have on his desk is an eyeglasses holder. He is always misplacing his glasses, so I thought this would be the ideal thing !
The vintage wooden holder was found at a thrift store long ago and has needed something to be done to it !  I had it on my desk, but hidden away because it was so ugly !!  Well, I no longer think it is something to be hidden....and I think you will agree !

I used G45 Typography collection, as well as some pieces from the retired  "A Proper Gentleman" and "Kraft Reflections" to decoupage this holder. I also added a green felt liner to cushion his glasses and his initials in tiny wooden letters. I rubbed it down with Antique Gold wax and a coating of Mod Podge Matte finish...

The card was made using G45 papers from the old "Steampunk Debutante" collection and I always loved the muted dark green hues in this "Balloon Flight" paper..reflects his favorite  color too. Inside I made the sentiment on paper that I embossed with Hot Air Balloon folder from Cuttlebug !!
Gotta run and get these wrapped up to go in the mail in the morning !
THANKS FOR LOOKING and have a BLESSED WEEK !!
