New ANNA GRIFFIN COLLECTION !! " BLOMMA " Card I made in 20 minutes today !!

Hi There My Friends !

Even after having a big wonderful dinner out this evening with my husband, and watching the NASCAR Daytona Premiere Race of the Season, I found that I was so excited about the new cardstock I got in this past week, and I just HAD to make a card. Hmmmm maybe it had something to do with watching a STOCK CAR race that kept me thinking about CARD STOCK !!
Ha Ha !!  Anyway....This one is made with Anna Griffin's papers that were designed by her protege'  Jessica Swift. It is called "BLOMMA"  (makes me think it should be called BLOOMA ) I just love the floral whimsy and bright colors for Spring !  I put this card together in about 20 minutes. I would like to walk you through my favorite procedure for making a 5" x 7" greeting card from one sheet of printed cardstock !  This cardstock is printed on both sides .... very easy way to be sure you are coordinated with your colors !

First, of course, I trim the paper by cutting the design in the direction I want the card to display and just go straight across the page at the 7" line on my rotary cutter.

Secondly,
What I wanted to show you here are the edges of this paper.
I used a deep green ink pad to color ALL of the cut edges of my paper sections. Yes, ALL of them... it will look much more professional and finished if you will take a few seconds just to drag the ink pad across the edges and color that ugly white line !

Next, I turned over some of my sections and using a border punch , I punched some lacey patterns around my mats ...

You will see the coordinating mats on the inside and outside of the card..

I added a stamped sentiment to some white cardstock and placed on top of this mat, which was cut to 3 3/4" x 5" and adhered them with my ATG tape gun.

I added some Anna Griffin "Blomma" embellishments, including a section of a Pennant Border, The Large white flower die cut and the Fuscia die cut...then added some golden metallic ribbon, and a large white 3-D Prima flower with a pearl in it...Last , I added an Anna Griffin "FRIEND" Sentiment that I really liked and adhered it with some 3-D POP DOTS.  The pink butterfly was from my stash .
