" Meet Me in Paris " Card # 2 of 5 ~

Hi Everyone !

I must admit that (if you haven't figured it out by now) that I am a bit of a Franco-phile... I have never been to France in this life . But I have always been fascinated with the culture, the language, the landscape, the architecture, food ..... oh mais oui !!! La Cuisine c'est bon !   Well, I get on these little "tangents" my husband calls them, and I have the determination that if I dream it long and hard enough, I will be able to go see this wonderful country with my own eyes. In the meantime, I enter all of the "free trip to Paris" sweepstakes that I can find, and watch travelogues and practice my French (from high-school) and make up these little games for my friends to participate in !   Ha Ha !

Here is card #2 that I have made using the new Darice French Bistro folder. I shamelessly remind you that you can PURCHASE this folder in my ETSY shop...and the link is right here on this page !  .
This  card is a what I call a "Formal" looking card. It is ivory, black and gold and features one of my favorite symbols , the Fleur de Lis . I was fortunate enough to have found this wonderful ivory satin ribbon at Michael's that had the black fleur de lis symbol on it.  Also, some black metal brads to match ! The background card-stock is from Graphic 45 "French Country " collection (naturally) and I could not resist using my EK Success Fleur de Lis edge punch for one side of the mat. I used some metallic gold card-stock to emboss the image  and matted it first with a 1/8" edging all around, and then added foam mounting tape to the back so it would stand out from the background mats. Added the ribbon and bow to the bottom with a bottlecap topper that has a Fleur de Lis and a tiny little Tour 'Eiffel inside !   I am toying with the idea of adding a stickpin with an Eiffel tower charm hanging from it, but maybe next time.
If you want a chance to win the folder, remember you have to leave a comment on all 5 of the posts for the card variations. The next one will be a big surprise - It will be very different from the first two.
Thanks so much for letting me share my ideas with you. I hope to be back real soon with the next installment....   AU REVOIR  for now !!  ............now where did I put that croissant ?

  2. Hi Barb! Another lovely card. I do love this embossing folder and I need to pop over to your etsy shop and see what goodies you have in stock now. Thank you for sharing and it never hurts to dream...you never know you could win that dream trip one of these days. Funny you would mention France as it is a place I have never been to interested in but I just set up a new folder on Pinterest and have started putting everything on France into it I can find...lol. I, too, would so love to go there. I ♥ all the shabby chicness (a new word) of the inventory in the little shops which are abundant...definitely would shop till I dropped. So many awesome things to do and places to see. Oh well Barb, have a great day and keep on dreaming! Sorry for going on forever.
