Happy Memorial Day Card

A special Happy Memorial Day to all of our Servicemen and women at home and abroad. I wanted to share this card that I made for my father-in-law, who is a WWII Veteran. He is 83 now and was at Iwa Jima, Midway and many other battles in the Pacific theatre on a battleship. He is a very special and brave man that we admire and love very much.
This card is made with the Independence Day cartridge. Lady Liberty is cut in copper foil and black layers. She is adhered with foam tape over a copy of "America the Beautiful" that is framed in red/white star paper. Then I cut the "Freedom" word and layered it with foam tape over that. A few star shaped buttons are sewn on and an American flag printed heart glued on the upper right. Inside, I wrote a sentiment and printed it on vellum and then laid that over some American flag paper I had.

I wish many of you safe travels on our Nation's roadways for this holiday weekend....As for me, I am staying home and CRAFTING !  God Bless !!

  1. Barb,

I saw this card on the Cricut MB and just had to come by and visit your blog! I am your newest follower! I love the patriotism in this card and please tell your father in law a big THANK YOU for his service to our country. As an "Army brat," I truely appreciate him, and what he has done for our country. Also, this card is just incredible. Also I love your decorated pins, which are TOO STINKIN' CUTE!!! Great job! Thanks for sharing your Crafty-ness!
