Hi There My Friends !
Well, since I have not been able to officially "work" for the past 2 weeks, I have found some time to make some more Valentine Cards !! :>)
Here is another example of what you can do with the Anna Griffin "Juliet" collection papers and my favorite fun "Kissing Lips" embossing folder and a Lips button...
My favorite way to make a card is to use one sheet of 12x12 cardstock, if you have the kind that is printed on one side and white/cream on the other. This Juliet Pink Scroll paper is perfect as the background and base for a card. For those of you who are crafting on a budget, this saves you from having to purchase a card base.
To make this card, I cut a 12x12 sheet of Pink Scroll cardstock straight across at the 7" line. This leaves you with a strip of 5"x12" cardstock. Next, you trim the leftover piece so that it is about 4"x6" and if you wish, you can use a Corner Chomper and trim the corners. This looks nice if you are trimming the outside pieces of your card so it looks coordinated. This becomes your inside "mat", upon which you can place a piece of white cardstock that you have stamped or printed a special message for your recipient. There is still some cardstock left over which you can then use to cut out some hearts, or other shapes to use on your card if you wish. The beauty of it is that you have a perfectly coordinated card this way and only used one piece of your "expensive" cardstock.
You can see that I also used 2 of Anna Griffin's embellishments on the front which are mounted on with foam tape for some dimension. I also layered the front with some scraps of gold metallic paper I had leftover from Christmas cards and a piece of solid pink under the lips embossed piece of solid white. I lightly brushed some pink Anna Griffin ink over the embossed lips on this one. Also, used some dark pink twine from my stash !!
In all, this card took about an hour to create....Not bad I think !! I will be back with another one soon !! ~ Love & Blessings to you ~ Barbara
This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
