Happy night before Thanksgiving !!!!!
I just returned from a wonderful shrimp dinner at our favorite restaurant and now I can get started on the PUMPKIN PIES for tomorrow - I always use my mother's recipe which has a lot of extra spices and vanilla and dark brown sugar - which makes for a very rich , warm, yummy pie . I have never had better pumpkin pie from any bakery, store or restaurant. And to me, it just isn't Thanksgiving without the wonderful aroma of Mom's pie.
I must admit that I get a bit melancholy on Thanksgiving now, and I really miss my mother a lot. I have a lot of wonderful memories of this day from my childhood, but even better ones as an adult . Mom and I would always get up and put the turkey in the oven, along with a pan of cinnamon rolls. Then we would have cinnamon buns and coffee for breakfast and watch Macy's parade. Tomorrow I will make cinnamon buns and coffee and watch the parade with my hubby, which is really nice, but not quite the same. Then I will put on my Mom's old apron and start fixing the Turkey feast while reminiscing about my childhood days....

I am sorry it took me so long to post. Lots of "LIFE" was happening since Sunday and I just could not get around to posting. Just so you all know, I have been really busy with crafting lately, but my camera is broken and I have not been able to take pictures. I hope it is fixed SOON !! Or - I at least hope that "Santa" will see that I need a new camera under the tree !
